Are you looking for a flexible way to share your beekeeping expertise? Do you want more time with your hands in hives? We are looking for local beekeepers to collaborate with us and introduce the fascinating world of bees to our engaged communities.

What You Will Do with Us as an Urban Beekeeper

Maintain honey bee hives at client sites on a three-week service cycle, performing various tasks to ensure the health of the colonies throughout the beekeeping season.

Install new hives and associated equipment at client locations.

Conduct regular hive inspections and maintenance.

Be responsible for the complete honey harvest directly from the hives (targeting a yield of approximately 30 pounds per hive per season) and manage the final delivery of the product.

Collect samples and field data to monitor hive health and environmental conditions.

Ensure rigorous tracking and complete service reports using Alvéole's digital tools.

Monitor pests and parasites and apply necessary treatments.

Facilitate educational workshops and raise awareness about beekeeping and biodiversity.

Regularly travel by car to client sites, apiary yards, equipment depots, and bee suppliers.

Interact with clients during visits and workshops to present Alvéole's services, including beehives, beehomes, and biodiversity data collection.

Complete digital records and service reports using Alvéole's tools (e.g., Zuper).

What You Bring

Practical beekeeping experience and strong knowledge of hive health and seasonal management.

Availability to perform regular visits throughout the season.

Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Comfort with mobile and digital tools for recording visits, tasks, and data (training provided).

Good organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for record-keeping and compliance.

Excellent communication skills, both professional and friendly.

Valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle.

Comfort working at heights, ability to move freely (standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive hand/finger movements), and the ability to lift up to 50 lb without assistance.

Comfortable with the realities of beekeeping (stings, heavy loads, variable weather conditions, etc.).

Engage with clients during visits and workshops to explain Alvéole's services, including beehives, beehomes, and biodiversity data collection.

Complete accurate digital records and service reports using Alvéole's tools (e.g., Zuper)
