What You’ll Do
Reporting directly to the CEO, and partaking in the daily CEO agenda, be ready for a career-changing professional endeavour that will propel you to the cockpit of one of the fastest-growing industrial and robotics start-ups. Part mentorship, part management consulting, and part advisory, the Senior Business Advisor role is designed to expose you to all facets of Vention over a 24-month period and re-inject back into the business in a leadership role thereafter. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with Vention’s CEO on the following roles and responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CEO on an array of business initiatives, spanning go-to-market, strategy, operations, finance, product development, organizational design, etc.
- Work on a project basis to develop solutions to complex business problems, leveraging analytics, strategic thinking, and market research (See appendix A).
- Partake in the weekly cadence of X-Sync meetings and support post-meeting action items, including handshake between functions.
- Drive orchestration of the company’s rhythm (i.e., MBR & SLT meetings) and support the preparation of content for the CEO.
- Support the creation of board presentations, including deep dives and work sessions.
- Participate in formal and informal end-of-day reflection sessions with the CEO, to reflect on emerging priorities, align on next steps, and adjust the direction of the company as needed.

- Provide the CEO with a true operational lever by taking the lead on various initiatives.
- Help the CEO develop a thesis and perspective before key decision points.
- Enable the business advisor to build a strong network of influence within the organization.
- Develop and mentor the business advisor to ensure a successful transition into the organization after the mandate.
What You Bring to the Team
- Distinctive work ethic and deep passion for exploring all possible solutions to find the best business solutions.
- First-order data analytics skills, with the demonstrated ability to structure datasets, perform complex analyses, and summarize insights.
- Strong intellectual capacity with the ability to decompose problems, define lines of investigation, explore competing perspectives, and advise the CEO on the various options to consider.
- Strong emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate the organization through different functions and levels of seniority.
- Strong communication skills, with a mastery of synthesis and downward communication.
- Comfortable leading multiple initiatives in parallel across a variety of business functions: go-to-market strategy, operations, finance, product development, HR, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business and master’s degree from a top institution, both obtained with distinctive performance.
- More than 3 years of experience in management consulting or investment banking in a top-tier company or equivalent.
- Great passion for industrial technology, robotics, and complex business problems.
- Strong alignment with Vention’s values, notably a passion for execution, ingenuity, and humility.
