Summary of the Mechanical Design Intern Position

Under the supervision of the design team leader, the mechanical design intern works closely with designers and mechanical engineers to develop solutions tailored to project needs while adhering to internal standards and industry standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Perform engineering project design in 3D and 2D (Creo/Autocad)
• Participate in the design and development of detailed mechanical drawings (sheet metal, machined parts, assemblies, updating drawings)
• Participate in improving and automating internal mechanical design processes
• Participate in writing internal design instructions and standards
• Support project engineers in the project management cycle as needed

Required Qualifications

• Student in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in design software SolidWorks, CREO (an asset) and AutoCAD.
• Rigor, mechanical sense, and structured mindset
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and willingness to actively contribute.
• Initiative, autonomy, and resourcefulness recognized.
