What is the job about?
Help the first CEO to implement strategic priorities and achieve performance goals for the region. You will be responsible for achieving objectives, driving high performance, delivering superior customer experience, and creating added value for all RBC shareholders. It will be your responsibility to manage an existing portfolio of accounts and acquire new clients. You will be responsible for the performance of this portfolio and will need to collaborate effectively with colleagues from the Corporate Client Group, Finance team, to ensure proper portfolio management. Finally, your responsibilities will include providing advice on various capital structure solutions, banking services, monetization, growth (internal and through acquisitions), and good risk management.
What are the tasks?
- Acquire a strategic understanding of the company's operational model, market position, and growth/divestment plans, and understand the risks and opportunities that impact its performance.
- Develop a relationship of trust and mutual understanding of clients' needs in terms of creating and realizing value for shareholders and protecting it.
- Acquire new clients for the Corporate Client Group (clients with annual revenues of at least $100 million or a BAIIA of $10 million) and guide teams to ensure effective execution and achieve customer acquisition and market share objectives.
- Develop and implement effective strategies for all current and potential clients to meet established needs, suggest ideas, and maximize revenue and profit opportunities.
- In collaboration with RBC partners, develop and implement ideas and solutions that meet clients' needs and maximize revenue and profit objectives.
- In collaboration with the first CEO, ensure optimal coverage of key executives and coordinate customer coverage activities.
- Provide superior customer service to each client through thorough planning and research, advisory approach, and annual detailed reviews for each client relationship.
- Measure the progress of client strategies with partners and clients, evaluate success against revenue objectives, and take necessary actions if needed.
- Prepare a complete statement of your client portfolio and work closely with colleagues from the Corporate Client Group, Finance team, to ensure proper portfolio management.
- What is required to succeed?
Essential Skills
- At least five years of professional experience in the corporate banking, credit, or corporate financing or credit risk management field.
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, or another field focused on quantitative analysis.
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional degree in business administration, economics, or finance (desirable).
- Analytical and technical skills and ability to quickly evaluate capital structure and financial needs.
- Very high QE and ability to understand complex organizational dynamics.
- Strategic thinking, good anticipation of future trends and consequences of current actions, in-depth knowledge, and global vision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, confidence, credibility, and friendliness.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented sales and marketing environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, handle multiple tasks, and collaborate with multiple people.
- Good judgment to determine which creative ideas will bear fruit and how to implement them, and ability to make appropriate decisions based on facts and take calculated risks.
- Ability to influence and demonstrate understanding and empathy while bringing people to consider new ways of thinking.
- Bilingual (English and French) required, as you will serve a clientele and do business with colleagues and partners who are Francophone and Anglophone across Canada.
