Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Accountant who can quickly integrate into the accounting team, play a key role in reducing a backlog of accounting transactions, and support monthly financial close activities. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes, with a strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in clearing a backlog of accounting transactions while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate accounting entries in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to resolve outstanding transactions and accounting issues.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and accounting procedures.
- French speaking is mandatory
- Significant experience in general accounting, preferably in a Senior Accountant role.
- Proven experience managing full month-end close processes.
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Solid account reconciliation and financial analysis skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage high volumes of transactions while meeting tight deadlines.
- Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software is considered an asset.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
