As a Financial Planner, your role involves building strong relationships with affluent clients by providing superior advisory services. External Clients –
As a Financial Planner, you proactively communicate with individuals outside the Scotia Bank network, presenting the unique value you can bring to their financial journey. Through constructive conversations and personalized advice, the goal is to demonstrate how informed financial planning can help clients clarify, pursue, and achieve their financial goals, regardless of their starting point.
Internal Clients –
As a Financial Planner, you play a crucial role in deepening relationships with clients by targeting and communicating with those who have had limited interactions with the Bank. You proactively explore opportunities and maintain significant connections, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor. By establishing strong internal partnerships across the branch network, you ensure seamless access to Scotia Bank's full range of resources, highlighting the best of the Bank in every client interaction.
As a Financial Planner, you:

Based on a comprehensive financial planning framework, you will be responsible for the following:
- Increase investment sales and acquire new clients while adhering to sales principles and regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Create business development opportunities with clients in the assigned market area.

Foster the Development and Sustainable Growth of Exclusive Investment Solutions in the Assigned Market Area by Focusing on the Following Aspects
- Business Development – Implement business development plans with current and potential affluent clients. Identify opportunities to increase placements and facilitate the implementation of an investment solution or introductions to appropriate partners.
- Customer-Centric Approach – Offer client-centered investment solutions based on a financial planning framework that follows sales principles. Use outbound communications and cold outreach to connect with clients and remain their first choice for future opportunities. Conduct a free needs analysis based on multiple financial statements, including those of the competition.
- Community Engagement – Participate in professional events and regional group and association activities. Identify opportunities to host community information sessions and financial seminars to develop and expand your network and acquire new clients. Establish and maintain a strong presence in the assigned market area. Network with investment experts and participate in external marketing activities with a well-managed limited budget.
Do you have what it takes to succeed in this role? We would be happy to work with you if you meet the following criteria
- Three years of experience in financial planning and investment product sales.
- A mutual fund sales license and a valid license complying with the requirements of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (course on investment funds or securities trading in Canada).
- The title of IPF in Quebec.
- Recognized skills in networking, client acquisition, and interpersonal relationships; experience in building and maintaining centers of influence.
- A results-oriented mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and autonomy and motivation to excel within a large team, demonstrating initiative with minimal supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of the competition's offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory framework.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for meeting clients and prospecting in the assigned market area.

- Additional Information
Note that the compensation structure for this position consists of a base salary plus variable compensation. Frequent travel is expected.
In addition to French, the incumbent must also have sufficient proficiency in English, as the work involves regularly interacting and collaborating with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other individuals, including clients, who speak English, both locally and elsewhere.
