Job Overview
As a Veterinary Technician for our Medicine & Surgery team located at our Senneville site, you will be responsible for the well-being of all our research animals. Your success will ensure the health of our animals and the integrity of our preclinical studies.
In this role, the main responsibilities will include:
- Assess and monitor the health status of animals under veterinary supervision;
- Work closely with our veterinarians to prepare and execute treatment plans;
- Perform treatments, medical procedures, and diagnostic tests under veterinary supervision;
- Identify potential animal well-being issues and find solutions.
- The minimum qualifications sought for this position are as follows:
- Diploma in Animal Health Technology – New graduates are welcome!;
- Diploma in Bioecology, Biology, Biotechnology, or any other related field with at least 2 years of recent work experience with animals as a Technician;
- Physically able to work (lift up to 20kg, walk, stand, crouch, etc.);
- Good observational skills;
- Problem-solving skills.
Please note that upon hiring, you will need to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the company's expense.
Role-specific Information
- Location: 22022 Transcanadienne route, Senneville, QC, H9X 1C1;
- Transport: We offer a shuttle service from Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station, John Abbott College, and the REM station at Anse à l'Orme to the Senneville site. Free parking. Electric car charging station;
- Salary: Starting at 23.50$/hr. Possibility to start at a higher level with a higher salary with specific research experience;
- Annual performance-based bonus;
- Schedule: Weekday schedule from Monday to Friday. Depending on company needs, you may have to do weekend rotations;
- Permanent position upon hiring, full-time at 37.5 hrs per week.
