The General Manager oversees operations, human resources, events, and customer experience, and participates in infrastructure, marketing, and finance management. As a central decision-making pillar, this person ensures the smooth daily functioning of the company and contributes to its growth, profitability, and customer experience quality.
The position is dynamic: tasks may be added, modified, or removed over time, and includes a share of unpredictability (operational emergencies, exceptional situations, special files). Owners are present and provide support across all responsibilities of the position.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
General Management and Strategic Management — advise owners, identify growth opportunities, coordinate departments, optimize procedures
Human Resources — recruitment, scheduling, HR administration, training, employee engagement, and company culture
Purchasing, Inventory, and Suppliers — procurement, inventory control, supplier relations
Communications — Google reviews management, social media, emails, and internal communications
Finances and Administration — salary optimization, budget participation, client accounts, regulatory compliance (FQME, CNESST, MAPAQ)
Customer Experience — continuous improvement, complaint management, and difficult situations
Courses, Programs, and Instructors — offer development, instructor recruitment
Group Bookings and Partnerships — business relations, sponsorships
Marketing Coordination — in collaboration with our marketing partner
Events and Community Development — planning, budgets, Café Bloc community engagement
Pro Shop — management in collaboration with owners, inventory, pricing, merchandising
Facilities, Equipment, and Technology — building, gym equipment, technological tools
Risk Management, Safety, and Crisis Management — emergency situations, safety, legal files
Project Development — facility and service improvements
Treatment Room — therapist coordination (physio, osteopathy, massage therapy)
WHAT WE OFFER
- Base salary: $85,000 to $100,000 depending on experience
- Bi-weekly payroll, direct deposit
- Annual salary review
- 3 weeks of vacation upon hire, 4 weeks after 2 years

- Primarily daytime hours (40 hours/week on average)
- 4 days in-office + 1 day remote
PROFILE REQUIRED
- Experience in operational management, ideally in multi-department team management
- Proficiency in financial and budget management
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Warm personality, capable of creating a positive team environment
- Bilingual (French/English)
- Knowledge of management software and AI tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and unpredictabilities
- Interest in the climbing or sports industry is an asset
- Sense of organization, diligence, and leadership
- Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 per year
