Clinical Nurse - Part-time Permanent - CLSC Côte-des-Neiges - Parenting Health

Person responsible for providing a range of nursing care based on the bio-psycho-social needs of users or groups of people entrusted to them.

They assess the state of health, determine and implement the nursing care and treatment plan for users with complex health problems and/or varied bio-psycho-social dimensions. They provide nursing and medical care to maintain, restore, and prevent illness.

What you do in this role

• Assess the bio-psycho-social needs of new clients and their families using appropriate data collection, considering all dimensions of the person and stages of life;
• Provide prenatal and postnatal care for the user/family, taking into account their experiences, needs, and the social, vulnerable, and ethnocultural context in which the client/family lives;
• Maintain the OLO (egg, milk, orange) program by distributing food supplements to pregnant women living in a vulnerable context;
• Provide the necessary support to the user/family to promote the optimal development of children, direct the user/family to services and resources that can meet a specific need;
• Inform the user/family about the health services and programs offered by the CSSS;
• Assess, determine the quality of the mother-child and father-child attachment relationship, parental knowledge and skills. Advise and provide future parents with tools or means to better exercise their new role;
• Assess, during a home visit, the physical and social environment, family dynamics, living conditions, and screen for problems that may harm the user/family's health and well-being;
• Provide prenatal information to parents individually or in groups (prenatal classes);
• Complete any other tasks as requested by your immediate supervisor.
