Under the supervision of the Senior Maintenance and Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimization of equipment as well as the development of best practices in maintenance across the company's sites located in Quebec, British Columbia, and Florida (Belle Glade). You will actively participate in the continuous improvement of maintenance processes, the management of preventive programs, and the technical support of teams to ensure the performance, safety, and profitability of VPAG (Vegpro Agriculture) and VPEL (Vegpro Packaging Vegetables) operations, divisions of Vegpro International Inc.

Main Responsibilities

  • Creation and implementation of a global preventive maintenance program for all VPAG and VPEL equipment across multiple sites in Quebec, British Columbia, and Florida (Belle Glade)
  • Responsible for equipment reliability: ensure the effectiveness of corrective and preventive interventions within a continuous improvement program
  • Document and improve equipment maintenance procedures and VPAG and VPEL management processes (cross-functional)
  • Identify training needs, present tailored recommendations, and develop training tools (creation of POKA)
  • Audit the quality of work performed and the work order management process within the system
  • Foster a harmonious and safe work environment
  • Manage external work, maintain strong relationships with suppliers and strategic partners, and rigorously follow up on specific files
  • Manage supplier programs to ensure the profitability of service and maintenance contracts
  • Facilitate the extraction of data needed to guide the choice of future equipment, based on their reliability and maintenance costs
  • Manage occasional projects
  • Act as an expert and provide support to vegetable packaging plant electromechanics, if needed

General Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers (asset)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Passion for continuous improvement in agriculture
  • Sense of organization and planning, analytical and initiative spirit, autonomy, communication skills, and ability to work in a team
  • Hold a valid driver's license and passport and be willing to travel occasionally
  • Good communicator both orally and in writing
  • Bilingual (English/French) essential and knowledge of Spanish is an asset
