Front Desk Agent – Riôtel Matane
Do you have relevant experience in the hospitality sector or customer service? Are you an independent person who likes to take initiatives? Do you have several relational qualities, such as patience or the ability to listen? Are you a methodical and organized person? The Riôtel Matane is currently looking for a Front Desk Agent.
What you will do
Under the supervision of the Front Desk Manager, the Front Desk Agent is the first-line professional who contributes to all aspects of customer service, including registering establishment clients, processing reservations, resolving customer issues, responding to their requests, and giving a general positive impression of the establishment.
More specifically, the Front Desk Agent will:
- Answer customer questions and provide information in person, by phone, by mail, or by email in a professional manner;
- Process customer arrivals and departures;
- Accept or cancel reservations for the Riôtel Hospitality Group;
- Answer the front desk phone, handle calls, take messages, process phone wake-ups, and report charges to customers' accounts;
- Process various customer requests, as well as their complaints;
- Inform customers about the various products and services offered by the entire Riôtel Hospitality Group;
- Perform other administrative tasks (mailing, preparation of forms, confirmations, etc.);
- Assist in various training related to the front desk and the hotel's night audit;
- Collaborate in the development of new work instructions;
- Other related or similar tasks;
- FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent must manage a cash fund, exchange currencies, and process checks. They are responsible for the cash register during their shift. They must follow a cash closing procedure.
Your experience and skills include
- Having a hospitality certification would be considered an asset;
- Possessing one to two years of experience in a similar position;
- Skills for sales, negotiation, and customer service;
- Professional attitudes and behaviors: teamwork, autonomy, dynamism, initiative;
- Good knowledge of spoken and written French;
- Ability to converse in English is essential to serve the anglophone clientele;
- Ability to manage multiple things at once: multitasking environments;
- Proficiency with computer systems.

- Employment Conditions:
Full-time work on variable schedules (+/- 37.5 hours per week), day, evening, and weekends.
Salary according to experience and skills.
Work location: Matane.
