Optometric Assistant

Our clinics Visique St-Raymond and Visique Donnacona are looking for someone like you, who will leverage your exceptional skills and experience within our team as an optometric assistant. In this role, you will improve the lives of our patients every day by providing exceptional vision and eyewear experiences, in a dynamic, enriching, and collaborative environment.

This is a full-time position, with a work schedule of 30 to 40 hours per week. Our clinics are open from Monday to Friday.

Evening availability is required for this position.

What you will do

• Welcome patients to the clinic, accompany them upon arrival and departure, and communicate with them in person, by phone, and by email
• Perform pre-tests to support comprehensive eye care
• Inform patients about the eyewear options that suit their lifestyle, and help them choose frames to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription orders
• Manage patient, insurance, and third-party billing and payments
• Provide a memorable customer service, ensuring a positive experience for patients
• Support clinic operations by completing other tasks as needed

What you bring

• Previous experience in the optical field is considered an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for patient contact and providing an exceptional experience
• Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team spirit, with a growth mindset and the ability to manage changing priorities effectively
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in technology and computer tools, including MS Office suite
