Description

Under the supervision of the production supervisor, the chemical technician is responsible for controlling the chemical process of the refinery.

Main Responsibilities

  • Control the chemical process using a DCS type human/machine interface;
  • Operate production equipment according to established procedures and directives;
  • Adjust operating parameters according to customer specifications;
  • Start up, adjust, troubleshoot, shut down, and regularly clean process equipment;
  • Take samples and perform routine chemical and physical tests on products as needed and upon request;
  • Identify problems in case of non-compliance of products or equipment failure, perform a brief analysis of the situation or problem, and initiate service requests;
  • Write non-conformity, accident, and SSE event reports, as well as any other required for proper production management;
  • Always wear safety equipment related to the task and ensure they are in good condition; replace them as needed;
  • Always follow, update, and write procedures and work instructions as needed, at the production, quality, health-safety, and environment levels;
  • Control reactions and product transfers according to health and safety rules;
  • Monitor measuring devices, indicators, and instruments related to operating equipment;
  • Actively participate in continuous process improvement through well-documented observations and communications using prescribed media;
  • Complete various production documents, files, and reports using computer systems;
  • Lead and participate in health-safety meetings at the start of the work shift and document them;
  • Complete the kamishibaï;
  • Participate in the safe maintenance of the factory work areas;
  • Follow all requested training within the scope of the job;
  • Consult available information tools;
  • Perform any other related or general tasks as requested by the supervisor.
