Under the supervision of the Geosciences Team Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring survey work (drilling and trenching), soil, rock and material sampling, and their description for projects ranging from small to large in scope.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in fieldwork, primarily work requiring the execution of exploration drilling and trenching, including the installation of piezometers and observation wells as needed for the project;
  • Conduct geotechnical and environmental soil and rock description and sampling according to applicable procedures and standards;
  • Perform various in-situ geotechnical tests (pressiometer, dilatometer, Packer test, scissometer, etc.)
  • Perform well development, groundwater level surveys, and groundwater environmental sampling using low-flow/low-recovery techniques;
  • Perform soil sampling in piles including technical reports;
  • Perform GPS precision surveying;
  • Write technical survey reports, daily reports, and sketches;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Desired Profile

  • Hold a DEC or equivalent qualification;
  • Hold a geology qualification (an asset);
  • Hold at least one (1) year of relevant experience in geotechnics or the environment;
  • Hold SIMDUT 2015 certification on hazardous materials (an asset);
  • Hold a valid driver's license;
  • Hold an ASP card in health and safety;
  • Excellent French language skills (oral and written);
