Through its diverse practice, the nurse's aide:
- Uses clinical judgment to collect data and makes observations following a new symptom. For example, in the evaluation of pain, following a fall or a deterioration in the person's general state;
- Monitors and follows up on the person's data, transmitting faithfully and with discernment all the information obtained. For example, takes vital signs, blood samples, and observes the behaviors and reactions of users to report any changes;
- Plans and prioritizes interventions by applying care methods within the scope of their practice (OIIAQ). For example, prepares and administers medications and vaccines, may install a BiPAP or change a suprapubic catheter;
- Applies a customer-centered approach by collaborating on hygiene, feeding, and comfort care.
- Acts with tact, discretion, and empathy.

Requirements
- Hold a Professional Studies Diploma (DEP) in health, nursing assistance, and care;
- Be a member in good standing of the Order of Nurse's Aides of Quebec (OIIAQ).
