The Engineering, Infrastructure, and Climate Change Adaptation Division is responsible for supporting municipal organizations in the planning and execution of municipal infrastructure projects. It ensures that municipalities have access to government infrastructure funding programs, plan and monitor construction work, and assists municipal organizations in preparing tender documents.
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated municipal engineer to join a committed team that responds to the needs of municipalities and regions, contributes to the organization's goals, and ensures that tomorrow's Quebec is the Quebec of all regions.
Please note that the position can be based in one or the other of our regional offices in Bas-Saint-Laurent (Mont-Joli, Matane, or Trois-Pistoles).
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AT FQM
Under the supervision of the Director of the Engineering Division at FQM, and in collaboration with team members, you will apply your skills to support local and regional municipalities by actively participating in various construction, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects.
THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY
- Prepare and design plans, estimates, and tender documents for construction work;
- Provide consulting services to local and regional municipalities at all stages of municipal contract management;
- Prepare tender documents for professional services;
- Monitor construction sites and ensure compliance with plans, estimates, and schedules;
- Conduct preliminary studies and provide technical advice;
- Prepare authorization requests under the Environmental Quality Act;
- Perform any other tasks as requested by the Director.

THE PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering;
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in municipal engineering;
- Have excellent knowledge of regulations and standards in the field of municipal infrastructure and municipal regulation;
- Team spirit and customer service orientation;
- Be a member of the OIQ;
- Have completed the construction safety training (ASP construction);
- Hold a valid driver's license and be willing to travel.
Any combination of education and professional experience, and any other relevant experience, will be considered.
