The Senior Analyst, Provisioning and Risk Measurement plays an important role in supporting the base activities related to the provisioning of expected credit losses (ECL) and economic capital by helping with the preparation of data sets, the execution of standard model routines and the performance of initial validation checks. This role contributes to the quarterly and year-end deliverables related to ECL and economic capital by performing defined tasks with rigor and ensuring that the results are clearly documented.

The Senior Analyst contributes to meeting IFRS 9 requirements by participating in the updating of macroeconomic data, scenario files, inputs related to significant increases in credit risk (SICR) and the documentation of internal controls. He or she supports the team by performing analyses, contributing to the preparation of presentations and maintaining organized documentation.

The role also contributes to the tracking of the indirect lending program, the collection of comparative information and the preparation of preliminary documents for the planning and production of reports. The Senior Analyst produces clear and concise summaries that support internal stakeholders and contributes to the team's documentation standards.

THE CHALLENGES YOU'LL FACE

  • Prepare and reconcile the data sets required for the provisioning and economic capital processes.
  • Execute established model routines and perform quality checks on the results.
  • Examine common data issues and escalate exceptions requiring in-depth analysis to a higher level.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual deliverables related to the provisioning of expected credit losses through data analysis and documentation activities.
  • Maintain process documentation and audit trails in accordance with team standards.
  • Prepare presentations and comparative analyses that support management reporting and discussions with stakeholders.
  • Support testing activities related to model improvements, system changes and methodological implementations.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Validation and Technology team partners to gather information and meet operational requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • University degree in a quantitative discipline, such as statistics, mathematics, econometrics or finance.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in an analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to assess data quality and identify inconsistencies.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 9 requirements, including the components of expected credit loss (ECL) modeling.
  • Understanding of economic capital concepts and stress testing.
  • Ability to execute established analytical procedures and document results with accuracy and rigor.
  • Proficiency in data extraction and analysis tools, such as SQL, Excel, Python or equivalent analytical platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality documentation and controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize analytical findings for different audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams and seek guidance as needed.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
