VIF Group is looking for a conventional / CNC machinist to join its machining shop specializing in the manufacture of molds for the plastics industry.
At VIF Group, you will participate in the manufacture of high-precision tooling used to produce pieces distributed throughout North America.

- Your role
As a Conventional / CNC Machinist, you will participate in the manufacture, adjustment, and machining of high-precision mold components. Your work will directly contribute to the quality and performance of the products manufactured by VIF Group.
Main responsibilities
Conventional machining
- Read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and 3D models.
- Perform tracing and preparation of pieces.
- Machine components using conventional lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills.
- Adjust and modify pieces according to required tolerances.
- Polish, deburr, and finish mold components.
- Participate in mold assembly and adjustment.
CNC machining
- Program, configure, and operate CNC machining centers and CNC lathes.
- Perform setups and select appropriate cutting tools.
- Optimize cutting parameters according to the materials used.
- Perform necessary adjustments to meet required tolerances.
- Monitor machining operations and validate piece conformity.
- Correct and improve programs when required.
- Participate in preventive equipment maintenance.
Quality control
- Verify dimensions using precision measurement instruments.
- Ensure compliance with tolerances and quality standards.
- Identify and quickly correct manufacturing deviations.
Desired profile
- DEP in machining techniques or equivalent experience.
- Experience in conventional and/or CNC machining.
- Good knowledge of reading mechanical and technical plans.
- Excellent knowledge of precision measurement instruments.
- Experience in mold making (important asset).
- Knowledge of FAO software such as Mastercam, PowerMill, or Fusion 360 (asset).
- Mastery of G-Code (asset).
- Rigor, meticulousness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and solve technical problems.
