Your role:

Reporting to the Director of Service Support, the Materials Lifecycle Management Technician will work with the Service Support team to support our customers with spare parts requests. In the role of Materials Lifecycle Management Technician, you will resolve issues with products under warranty by performing diagnostics, failure analyses, and coordinating the replacement of defective parts.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the procurement and coordination of spare parts sales for all Bronswerk Marine & Offshore projects.
  • Provide customer service to meet their spare parts needs, in accordance with Bronswerk's spare parts protocols and processes.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.
  • Research and identify other spare parts that are obsolete to meet customer specification requirements.
  • Examine and manage all incoming warranty claims by following Bronswerk's warranty claim procedures.
  • Ensure that drawings are up-to-date (modified as needed by engineering staff).
  • Establish relationships with customers by providing helpful and friendly service.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding documentation and assemble packages as needed by the customer.
  • Ensure that supporting documents for billing are provided to the finance department to maximize positive cash flow.
  • Lead efforts to ensure that equipment documentation is up-to-date.
  • Provide support to the workshop and subcontractors, including but not limited to:
  • Issue purchase orders for spare parts;
  • Document verification;
  • Ensure that quality documentation is performed and documented;
  • Interact with customer staff as needed to obtain material acceptance.

What kind of candidate are we looking for?

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or repair environment
  • College diploma in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in review/repair workshop (an asset)
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong interpersonal communication and written/verbal skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships
  • Exposure to project, cost, and schedule management is a plus
  • Possess excellent judgment and professional maturity
  • Knowledge of military standards, an asset
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and solid mechanical assembly skills
  • Bilingual French and English: frequent communications with other North American offices and interactions with North American and European-based customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to obtain a Canadian security clearance (Canadian citizen or permanent resident) and controlled goods clearance is required.
