Job Overview

As a Cage Washer Assistant for our Toxicology team at our Laval site, you will be responsible for the well-being of all our research animals by keeping their housing clean. Your success will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, the main responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and performing daily checks on cage washers;
  • Monitoring soap usage and the various needs of cage washers;
  • Cleaning all types of animal housing and their accessories;
  • Performing basic maintenance and minor repairs on all cages and accessories to ensure everything is safe for the animals;
  • As needed, performing handling tasks in the vivarium.
  • If you have the following qualifications, we will train you for the rest:
  • High school diploma (DES), or completion of secondary III accompanied by a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Physically fit (able to lift up to 20kg, walk, stand, crouch, etc.);
  • Capable of following strict and precise instructions/procedures;
  • Good observation and communication skills.

Please note that upon hiring, you will need to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the company's expense.

  • Location: 445 Boul. Armand-Frappier, Laval, QC, H7V 4B3;
  • Transport: Free parking. Near Montmorency metro station. Electric car charging station;
  • Salary: 18.75$/hr;
  • Bonuses: Evening (2.50$), weekend (2.75$), overtime (time and a half), holidays (double time);
  • Annual performance-based bonus;
  • Schedule: Flexible schedule, you must be available during the day and evening. Depending on the company's needs, you may have to work overtime and weekends;
  • Permanent position upon hiring, full-time at 37.5 hrs per week;
