The role of the drafter is to produce drawings for the fields of automation and instrumentation (analytical and conventional). The candidate will report directly to the Engineering & Integrated Solutions Supervisor and will work closely with designers and project managers.
Under the direction of designers and project managers, the drafter will produce CAD drawings in Autocad or other software. They must have a good mastery of Autocad and SeeElectrical software, efficient work practices, knowledge and practical experience with electrical control panels, and enjoy teamwork.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Electrical design of analytical control panels and automation
- Industrial drawing realization with CAD software and/or SeeElectrical (electrical, mechanical, and process type);
- Ensures compliance with drawing standards;
- May recommend technical solutions to designers and project managers;
- Handle project documentation management;
- Handle other tasks related to projects;
- Keep technical knowledge up to date;
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Knowledge in 3D drawing would be an asset
Qualifications
- DEC in electrical engineering, electro-technique (control panels, instrumentation, etc.), AEC in instrumentation and control, or demonstrated relevant experience
- Min 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role;
- Knowledge and skills acquired for the use of Autocad & SeeElectrical software
- Basic experience in mechanical drawing and P&ID type drawings;
- Knowledge of the Quebec Electrical Code;
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously for different stakeholders;
- Good mastery of Word, Excel, and Visio, Outlook, Teams software;
- Good communication skills, both oral, written, and interpersonal;
