The Draftsperson/Designer is responsible for the design, updating, and improvement of the tooling used in the various factories. Using 3D drawing software, he/she creates the drawings, supports the technical teams, and contributes to optimizing the performance, standardization, and durability of the tools.
Main Responsibilities
- Create work orders for tooling design by drawing the parts on *Inventor*.
- Support fitters in identifying solutions to technical problems.
- Place tooling orders with external suppliers: request for quotes, delivery times, delivery, etc., in support of the Unit Manager.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of tooling: lifespan, design.
- Participate in the standardization project of tooling.
- Verify drawings to ensure they are in accordance with the design data.
- Implement design standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the impacts of changes to tooling on manufacturing and use.
- Keep the tooling catalog up to date, which serves as a reference for each of the factories.
- Provide the necessary technical support for tooling design during manufacturing, testing, and use.
- Develop tooling manufacturing methods in collaboration with machinists.
Desired Profile
- Professional studies diploma or DEC in Industrial Design, or DEC in Mechanical Engineering or any other related training.
- Proficiency in 3D drawing software (*Inventor* is an asset).
- Intermediate English in writing and speaking.
- Sense of service and collaboration.
- Knowledge of machining techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge: drive systems, manufacturing, etc.
