Purpose of the Position
The IT Infrastructure and Support Manager plays a key role in the company's technological performance and digital transformation by ensuring the reliability, security, evolution, and operational excellence of IT infrastructures across all our sites and campuses in Canada and the United States.
Under the responsibility of the Director of Information Technology, the IT Infrastructure and Support Manager acts as a key technological leader and partner, actively participating in initiatives supporting the company's digital transformation. They are responsible for driving the evolution of technological infrastructures, ensuring their stability, performance, and security, while promoting the adoption of innovative solutions tailored to business needs. They lead and mobilize a dedicated team in supporting users and maintaining IT operations, fostering a culture of service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a credible manager who can establish a trusting environment with their team and the entire organization. As a true operational and strategic partner, you will contribute to the IT vision by providing recommendations based on your field observations and understanding of business challenges, and directly engage in operations when necessary to support your team and ensure the continuity of activities.
IT Infrastructure
- Ensure leadership, planning, and coordination of activities related to the operation, maintenance, security, and development of infrastructures, technological platforms, and the IT asset inventory.
- Analyze infrastructure performance, identify optimization opportunities, recommend required improvements, and oversee the planning of system evolution and overall capacity.
- Ensure optimal use of existing technologies by maximizing their efficiency and ensuring their continuous evolution.
- Participate in the deployment and maintenance of the Microsoft 365 platform within the organization.
- Implement or optimize the use of infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Ensure compliance with operational continuity and disaster recovery needs based on expectations and best practices in the field.
- Document and maintain up-to-date documentation related to network and system operations.
Personnel Management
- Manage a team of 5 people dedicated to providing service and support to IT system users and responding to internal and external client requests.
- Act as a mentor and ensure the professional development of resources under their responsibility by fostering autonomy, engagement, and skill progression.
- Support problem resolution by acting as a technical escalation leader for their team or during outages, service interruptions, and/or major incidents.
- Optimize computer problem resolution and user service processes in a continuous improvement and customer experience approach.
- Proceed, in collaboration with the Director of Information Technology and the Human Resources team, to the hiring of future talents for the team under their responsibility.
Location
- Shared between our two campuses on the South Shore of Montreal, in a hybrid mode:
- Sherrington Campus: located in the heart of our agricultural and packaging facilities, away from traffic, approximately 37 minutes from the Champlain Bridge.
- Brossard Campus: strategically located in the Solar Uniquartier, approximately 5 minutes from the Champlain Bridge and accessible by REM.
- Telework: You will benefit from two (2) days of telework per week, providing flexibility to balance work and personal obligations.
- General Competencies
Education and Technical Skills
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
- Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of Information Technology and IT infrastructure projects, including 3 years in team management.
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of network infrastructures and services, Windows server environments, and virtualization.
- Intermediate knowledge in the field of cybersecurity and cloud services.
- Experience in managing IT services (incidents, requests, problems) within an ITSM (Helpdesk) tool.
- Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Skills in change management and the implementation of new technologies.
- Advanced skills in problem analysis and resolution.
- Functional bilingualism (French and English) both written and oral.
