By joining CGI as a Scrum Master, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in the performance and cohesion of agile teams. You will be responsible for organizing and facilitating the main Scrum ceremonies, while guiding teams in adopting mature, collaborative, and results-oriented agile practices.
In close collaboration with the Product Owner and other stakeholders, you will ensure a clear and prioritized backlog, address obstacles that hinder progress, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Through your leadership, communication skills, and ability to foster autonomy, you will directly contribute to the strategic alignment of projects and the creation of a high-performing and sustainable work environment.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
- Help team members adopt and improve Scrum practices and work collaboratively and autonomously.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain a clear, prioritized backlog aligned with project objectives.
- Use agile metrics to track team progress and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Identify and remove obstacles that prevent the team from progressing effectively.
- Work closely with other Scrum Masters, managers, and stakeholders to ensure strategic and operational project alignment.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team, ensuring that retrospectives lead to concrete actions.
- Serve as a mentor and trainer for new Scrum Masters or less experienced team members.
Qualifications Required to Succeed in This Role
- At least 7 years of experience in IT;
- At least 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master;
- Hold the PSM1 (Professional Scrum Master 1) or CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certification;
- Having a Leading SAFe or SAFe Scrum Master (SAFe SM) certification is a significant asset;
- Have one year of experience with tools like Azure DevOps or Jira for managing a team's backlog;
- Excellent communication and conflict management skills;
- Ability to proactively solve problems and manage situations autonomously;
- Strong results-oriented and continuous improvement mindset;
- Team spirit and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, as well as professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particularities of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $60,000 and $120,000. This position is open.
