Work Schedule: 35 hours per week

Your Future Work Environment:

The Bureau of Penal Affairs (BAP) is a specialized bureau within the DPCP. It brings together all specialized prosecutors in penal matters and covers most of the judicial districts in Quebec. The BAP's mission is to act as an expert advisor in provincial penal law and to authorize complaints received from various ministries and organizations. It ensures the application of the Penal Procedure Code with regard to a hundred provincial and federal laws. It also has the function of directing penal proceedings before the courts (including appeal instances) and performing the required actions throughout the judicial process.

Your Role in Our Team:

Within the team of the Director of Support for Operations at the BAP in Montreal, you will be a key player in the administrative follow-up of judicial activities by assuming the following responsibilities:

  • Open penal files and prepare their filing.
  • Write and submit to the court all documents required for hearings.
  • Produce and submit witness summons.
  • Perform appropriate follow-up for each file.
  • Manage telephone and electronic communications from citizens and other parties.
  • Write general correspondence.
  • Review and format various judicial procedures.
  • Keep the file classification system up to date and proceed with archiving when required.
  • Participate in various administrative mandates.

The salary scale ranges between $42,553 and $58,569.

Job Requirements:

Hold a high school diploma (DES) or a relevant certificate of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority.

We may consider the application of a person in the process of completing the last year of studies required to obtain the diploma.

If you do not possess the relevant education required, you can compensate each missing year of relevant education by two (2) years of relevant experience or by one (1) year of relevant education at the same or higher level as that required.

The high school diploma can be compensated by work experience, including family responsibilities.

We will consider all education completed outside of Canada if it is subject to a comparative evaluation (equivalence certificate) issued by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization, and Integration.

You must have Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a work permit issued by the competent federal authority to work in the Quebec public service.
