The Technician Class B assists the Medical Technologist and the Laboratory Technician in the completion of various technical tasks such as:

• receive specimens, verify their conformity according to established procedures, and perform pre-analysis treatment when required,
• record analysis requests and determine prioritization,
• record the physical characteristics of specimens (e.g., appearance, color, odor, volumetric mass measurement) and ensure proper conservation until analysis,
• react promptly and effectively in case of emergency,
• dispose of specimens, requests, and biomedical waste according to established procedures,
• prepare sterile culture media, if necessary,
• perform preventive maintenance of equipment and disinfect work surfaces according to established procedures,
• manage inventories of reagents or laboratory materials,
• prepare and verify materials,
• an orientation and training program will be offered upon your start date. You can also count on the support of your colleagues to accompany you in your learning.

Requirements

• Must hold a high school diploma (DES)
• Must have two (2) years of relevant experience or possess equivalent skills.

Additional Information

• Be available to work a minimum of 2 days per week,
• Be available to work 1 weekend out of 2.
