• Main Responsibility

The OHS Prevention Specialist will be responsible for promoting and ensuring the implementation of OHS measures on-site and in the workshop. He/she will act as a specialist to support the teams.

The position is 80% field/on-site and 20% office.

Job Duties

• Meet with operational teams on-site and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as an OHS specialist to support and equip the implementation of required actions.
• Conduct risk analyses for workstations.
• Ensure the implementation of the prevention plan; advise on improvements and best practices.
• Promote the safety culture throughout the organization (employees and contractors).
• Conduct OHS audits according to the division's protocols (FSOD, GRA, Find it/Fix it).
• Supervise, train, and support teams.
• Present and discuss relevant results and information related to OHS at committees, general meetings, etc.
• Analyze work processes and workplace accident investigations from various sites and write reports and recommendations.
• Respond to daily employee and manager inquiries regarding health and safety.
• Review and approve prevention programs and methods before work begins on-site.
• Participate in group or division meetings related to OHS.

Required Qualifications

• Degree related to the position (OHS certificate or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Construction Safety Health and Safety (ASP construction) course certificate.
• Experience in construction sites (an asset).
• Knowledge of laws governing workplace health and safety.
• Advanced intermediate level of English both orally and in writing, considering regular interactions with the Ontario office and other group entities worldwide.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT) and ease in learning new tools.
• Availability for frequent and regular travel primarily to Quebec, Montreal, Saguenay, and Toronto (valid passport and driver's license).
