Job Overview

The assistant store manager is responsible for overseeing customer satisfaction, training and developing store staff, setting an example on the sales floor, and maintaining store standards on the sales floor and in the backroom.

Reports to: Store Manager

Supervises: Assists the manager with all sales associates, office staff, and stock control associates

Essential Job Functions

Staff Development

• Training Completion: Ensure all associates complete training in accordance with company guidelines.
• Leadership by Example: Set the example by training, developing, and providing ongoing feedback and training on product knowledge, sales skills, merchandising, and customer satisfaction.

Customer Experience

• Customer Service: Ensure an excellent level of customer service is a priority at all times by implementing and delivering the customer experience through regular evaluation, training, and follow-up with the team.
• Merchandising: Maintain all standards, guidelines, and promotions in merchandising and ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and backroom.

Drive Sales and Profitability

• Sales Targets: Meet or exceed district expectations for sales, payroll, conversion, and reduce loss.

Operational Efficiency

• Payroll Management: Meet all payroll expectations.
• Loss Prevention: Control company assets by adhering to all loss prevention measures.
• Policy Compliance: Execute and comply with all company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

• At least two years of proven experience in sales and profits, as well as training and developing a team of associates.
• Proficiency in using a personal computer and analyzing detailed reports.
• High school diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Ability to lift heavy loads of more than 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for at least eight hours during scheduled shifts.
