The Cybersecurity Governance Advisor supports organizations in defining, implementing, and improving their cybersecurity governance practices across their entire digital environment, including cloud services, data platforms, AI solutions, and automated processes.
They contribute to structuring roles, responsibilities, policies, decision-making processes, and tracking mechanisms necessary for consistent cybersecurity management. They help the organization maintain a balance between innovation, risk management, compliance, and business priorities.
Functions and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, or update cybersecurity policies, directives, standards, and procedures;
- Define roles, responsibilities, decision-making powers, and governance mechanisms;
- Integrate data, AI, intelligent agents, automation, and cloud services issues into governance frameworks;
- Contribute to the establishment of committees, approval processes, escalation mechanisms, and accountability;
- Conduct cybersecurity maturity assessments;
- Identify gaps between current practices, observed risks, and expected practices;
- Develop improvement plans and roadmaps;
- Define performance, compliance, risk, and maturity indicators;
- Support the implementation of cybersecurity programs;
- Guide the secure use of new technologies and AI-assisted tools;
- Produce analyses, reports, and presentations for senior management;
- Facilitate collaboration between business, technology, legal, compliance, data, AI, and security teams;
- Contribute to the preparation of audits, evaluations, or compliance reviews;
- Stay informed about governance frameworks, standards, threats, and applicable requirements.
- Required Qualifications to Succeed in this Role
- Desired Profile
- Education in cybersecurity, computer science, management, governance, audit, or a related field;
- Relevant experience in cybersecurity governance, compliance, risk management, or information security;
- Good understanding of roles and responsibilities related to cybersecurity management;
- Ability to develop policies, governance frameworks, and organizational processes;
- Understanding of the impacts of AI, automation, cloud computing, and data exploitation on governance practices;
- Ability to balance innovation needs with control and compliance requirements;
- Ability to work with managers, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams;
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills;
- Knowledge of recognized cybersecurity standards and frameworks;
- Relevant professional certifications are an asset.
CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Reward decisions are based on individual circumstances. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $70,000 and $135,000. This position is open.
