Judicial Paratechnician
- The position is to be filled at the Northern Quebec Registry and Justice Palace of Kuujjuaq and Puvirnituq.
- This is a part-time position for a duration of one year.
- The incumbent must work in a fully in-person capacity only.

- Leadership Context:
The Northern Quebec Registry and Justice Palace of Kuujjuaq and Puvirnituq provides all judicial functions, regardless of jurisdiction, in a largely decentralized context, where hearings are held directly in the northern communities.
Daily Responsibilities:
The incumbent provides legal support to the client, the judiciary, and in the courtroom by assisting the client, processing procedures, providing judicial administrative support to the judiciary, and performing administrative tasks and procedures before, during, and after hearings.
They also perform various administrative tasks within a registry.
As part of an organization undergoing transformation, they are involved in improving support and accompanying citizens in matters of justice.
Salary Scale:
From $45,037 to $64,505. A temporary declining bonus of 6% is also added to the salary until December 4, 2026. Note that the sum of the temporary declining bonus and the salary cannot exceed the maximum of the salary scale.
These amounts do not include the 0.11% adjustment based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). This adjustment will be made later, retroactively as of March 31, 2026.
The remuneration is determined based on the relevance of your years of education and experience, which are assessed in relation to the position. Therefore, it is important to detail them well in your application, which will serve as a reference.

Essentials
- Hold a high school diploma (DES) or relevant educational certificate whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority. Each year of missing education can be compensated by two years of paid or unpaid work experience, including family workload. The DES can also be compensated by a professional specialization certificate or a professional studies diploma.
- Possess two years of relevant post-secondary education. A person can apply if they are in the process of completing the last year of required education. For consideration, any education completed outside of Canada must be subject to a comparative evaluation (equivalence certificate) issued by the
Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration.
- Each year of missing post-secondary education can be compensated by two years of relevant experience to the duties of the position. Relevant experience acquired in the job market as well as outside of the job market is recognized. Furthermore, relevant experiences acquired during the same period can be combined without exceeding the duration of that period of concomitance.
- Possess Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status or a work permit issued by the competent federal authority allowing work within our organization. A person awaiting proof of permanent resident status or a work permit allowing work within our organization can submit their application to this selection process. However, they must be authorized to work legally in Canada at the time of their appointment.
- Have appropriate knowledge of French for the functions.
- Hiring is conditional upon the results of a security check.
- Possess knowledge of English adapted to the requirements of the position, as most documents and written communications (emails) are written in this language. Additionally, most hearings are held in English, and the drafting of minutes must generally be done in this language.
