Ensure that credit approval, risk control activities, and related processes for National Accounts credit applications are carried out within a strong risk culture, focusing on emerging risks and adhering to the Bank's risk appetite. Risk Assessment and Risk Rating

  • Authorize and/or approve credit applications within the limits of assigned approval; provide sound recommendations for larger and/or problematic credit applications and loans, in accordance with the Bank's risk appetite and applicable policies and standards.
  • Assess financial and non-financial risks to ensure accurate client risk profiling, challenge bank strategies, and assess risk-adjusted returns of assets under defined thresholds, while ensuring compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform risk assessment and risk rating, monitor changes in client solvency in a timely manner, and recommend appropriate measures.
  • Understand the economic, political, and regulatory context and its impact on the assigned portfolio, and recommend relevant actions.
  • Participate in risk management committees and transaction forums as a strategic advisor to banking teams.

Client Orientation (Internal and External)

  • Play a key role in the customer experience by effectively collaborating with National Accounts teams, providing relevant feedback, and participating, where possible, in client meetings, calls, and visits to ensure a consistent and efficient experience while managing risks appropriately.
  • Ensure that the credit approval process is completed within the parameters of established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Documentation, Data, and Reports

  • Validate or oversee the validation by the team of critical GRM data elements in the credit systems feeding regulatory capital and provision calculations.
  • Lead or support innovation and digitization initiatives in risk management processes to improve the accuracy and speed of credit decisions and operational efficiency.

Portfolio Management

  • Account Monitoring: Maintain proactive and continuous monitoring of early warning signals and sectoral and market trends to take the necessary actions in a timely manner for the assigned portfolio.
  • Collaborate with banking teams to ensure compliance with all portfolio loan performance indicators within established performance parameters (KPIs).

Bank Protection

  • Actively support the effectiveness and efficiency of operations in your area of responsibility while ensuring the adequacy, compliance, and effectiveness of daily operational controls to meet requirements related to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, money laundering and terrorist financing (AML-CFT) risk, and conduct risk. This includes responsibilities as outlined in the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, Global AML-CFTLAB/FT Manual, and Conduct Guidelines.

  • Foster a risk awareness and accountability culture, promote a customer-centric culture, offer mentoring and coaching, and provide an attractive employee experience that encourages talent attraction and retention.

Do you have the skills to succeed in this role? - We would like to work with you if you have:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate financing and/or credit approval, ideally within syndicated transactions.
  • Post-secondary degree in business administration or a related field, preferably completed with a master's or MBA. A professional designation (CFA, CPA) is an asset.
  • Excellent financial analysis and accounting skills, risk assessment, and creative financing solution development, demonstrating strong credit judgment.
  • Deep understanding of collateral documentation, legal implications, and available remedies.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills demonstrated by managing a team of analysts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with business teams and corporate functions.
  • Ability to make decisions, often in an uncertain context, and clearly explain the reasoning behind the decisions.
  • Language skills: Advanced English, French.
