What is the job opportunity about?
As a professional at RBC Trust Royal, the Trust and Estate Advisor is responsible for acquiring new wills, powers of attorney, or mandates that designate Trust Royal as a trustee. You will establish and maintain strong relationships with wealthy clients and key internal and external partners to target appropriate opportunities and ensure a superior experience in trust and estate services.
What will your tasks be?
- Generate new designations for wills, powers of attorney, and mandates, and new business opportunities by building relationships with influential individuals (accountants, lawyers, trustees, financial advisors, etc.).
- Provide guidance on succession and estate planning questions, ensure new documents comply with internal standards and policies, and ensure will policies are followed.
- Serve as a resource for RBC Trust Royal by providing advice on specific legal questions related to succession and trusts, and as a resource to internal partners and clients through presentations on succession and estate planning.
- Stay informed about changes to applicable laws related to succession and trust matters.
- Provide fast and efficient service to current clients regarding their wills, powers of attorney, and mandates.
- Offer superior customer service to existing clients and partners to ensure their loyalty.
- Actively participate in banking and financial services sector activities to continuously enhance sectorial and professional expertise.
- Serve as an ambassador for RBC Trust Royal in the market segment as a professional in succession and trusts.
- What do you need to succeed?
Requirements
- Lawyer (member of the Quebec Bar) or notary (member of the Quebec Notaries Chamber)
- Excellent knowledge of wills, trusts, estate and trust administration, applicable tax rules, and estate planning concepts
- Excellent knowledge of law related to wills, succession, and trusts
- Experience in the areas of wills, succession law, trusts, financial planning, and administration of trusts and estates, as well as relevant tax, environmental, family, and insurance issues
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will serve a client base and do business with colleagues and partners who are Francophones and Anglophones across Canada
- Strong presentation skills
Assets
- Relationship management, marketing, and business expansion skills
- Established internal and external business network
- TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) designation
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation awarded by the Canadian Securities Institute
