About the Position: The Maintenance Supervisor ensures strategic orientation of maintenance and promotes excellence in all maintenance activities within a complex manufacturing facility or large manufacturing plant. The incumbent supervises daily maintenance activities, including timely breakdown diagnosis, root cause analysis, and performance issue resolution. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures the safety of activities, achievement of results and key objectives, and effective leadership of work teams, while targeting and directing continuous improvement initiatives.
Compensation:
In line with our commitment to equity, trust, and transparency, and our ambition to be a top employer, the base salary range for this position is between $78,600 and $98,300+.
Note: In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, your actual base salary will be fair, competitive, and based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.

What You Bring
- College or university diploma, or equivalent certificate from a trade school
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in a plant within a unionized environment, preferably
- 3 years of relevant experience in the fields of electricity, control systems, or mechanics
- Experience in implementing preventive maintenance systems and managing maintenance budgets according to an established operating plan
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning, prioritization, and tracking of maintenance activities to ensure optimal plant operation by scheduling maintenance personnel and contractors' activities. Collaborate with production supervisors, maintenance planner, maintenance supervisors, and maintenance team buyer to optimize the use of maintenance resources.
- Exercise leadership to improve health and safety performance at work by setting an example for safety and demonstrating reasonable diligence in the application of the company's health and safety program elements. These elements emphasize incident prevention through hazard identification, implementation of necessary control measures, training, education, and audits. Take corrective actions as needed to address hazardous situations and examine unsafe employee behaviors. Comply with Lactalis' essential rules as well as other safety rules and procedures. Communicate with appropriate resources to address hazardous situations or unsafe employee behaviors.
- Lead and supervise personnel by providing work instructions, performance feedback, and training and development recommendations. Promote a positive employer-union relationship and ensure compliance with company rules and legal obligations arising from the collective agreement (if applicable), as well as various regulations and laws, including the Employment Standards Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Workers Compensation Act.
- Monitor contractors and ensure they comply with plant procedures and contractual requirements, including those related to equipment installation, modifications, and maintenance. Ensure all relevant activities are carried out in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, manufacturing best practices requirements, and company standards.
- Achieve superior operational performance by identifying opportunities and implementing cost and activity improvements at the plant level. Troubleshoot performance issues associated with production equipment and implement effective corrective actions in a timely manner. Ensure the effective implementation of maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules. Coordinate unexpected equipment repair work, including labor, materials, and time required, and track the work to ensure it is completed according to standards.
- Serve as a liaison between production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure resources are used effectively, problems are resolved promptly, responsible managers are consulted or kept informed of appropriate activities, and required approvals are obtained under plant process modification and procurement policies.
- Support budget management for the service by monitoring expenses against the plan and reporting costs in SAP software or computer-assisted maintenance management (CAMM) systems.
