Project Manager – PTRV (Power Transfer for Rail Vehicles) North America
MISSION
The Project Manager for PTRV is responsible for managing customer projects in North America for Mersen’s PTRV product line, including 3rd rail current collectors, onboard disconnector switches, fuse boxes, and earth return current units.
The role ensures successful project execution from order intake to final delivery, coordinating internal teams and customer stakeholders to meet technical, quality, cost, and timeline objectives. The Project Manager acts as the main interface between customers, sales, engineering, production, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction.
Main Accountabilities
- Manage PTRV customer projects from contract review through delivery, installation support, and project closure.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers during project execution.
- Coordinate internal teams, including engineering, production, supply chain, quality, sales, and finance, to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Review customer requirements, technical specifications, schedules, and contractual commitments.
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, action lists, risk registers, and project reporting.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables, ensuring timely escalation when needed.
- Organize and lead internal and customer project meetings, including follow-up on actions and decisions.
- Support technical clarification processes in coordination with engineering and sales teams.
- Ensure project documentation is delivered on time, including drawings, technical files, quality documents, BOMs, and customer-specific deliverables.
- Coordinate with production and supply chain teams to secure material availability and on-time delivery.
- Identify project risks and opportunities, propose mitigation actions, and drive resolution of blocking points.
- Support change management activities, including impact analysis on cost, lead time, and technical scope.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, internal processes, safety rules, and applicable quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and sharing best practices across the PTRV team.
- Maintain accurate project data and reporting in internal systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, project management, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in project management, engineering project coordination, or industrial project execution.
- Experience in rail transit, transportation, electrical equipment, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
- Technical understanding of rail vehicle power systems, high-voltage electrical equipment, or related components is an asset.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced international environment.
- Strong customer-facing skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bilingual English/French preferred.
- Willingness to travel occasionally across North America; valid passport required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP, project management tools, and CRM systems is an asset.
- Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, structured, customer-focused, and able to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
