Machinist

Under the responsibility of the Production Director, the Machinist is responsible for machining, manufacturing, adjusting, and repairing mechanical parts using conventional or numerically controlled (CNC) machines, according to plans, drawings, and technical specifications. They ensure the quality of the produced parts, compliance with tolerances, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical plans, drawings, and estimates
• Prepare, adjust, and operate conventional and/or CNC machines
• Assemble tools and parts
• Perform machining of parts according to required dimensions and tolerances
• Check the quality of parts using measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, comparator, etc.)
• Make necessary adjustments during production
• Maintain equipment and keep the workspace clean and safe
• Follow quality, production, and health and safety procedures
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize processes
• Participate in continuous improvement of operations
• Perform any other related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• DEP in machining techniques or equivalent experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (asset)
• Knowledge of conventional and/or CNC machines
• Ability to read mechanical plans
• Good mastery of precision measuring tools
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good manual dexterity and autonomy.
