Technical Infrastructure Architect - Expert

We are seeking an Expert-level Technical Infrastructure Architect to contribute to strategic initiatives for the transformation, modernization, and evolution of the organization's technological infrastructure.

The successful candidate will play a central role in defining target architectures, evolving technological platforms, planning migrations, and executing complex projects involving critical infrastructures, data centers, cloud environments, enterprise services, and hybrid platforms.

The person we are looking for has solid experience in large-scale technological environments, high availability, including hybrid infrastructures, data centers, private and public cloud environments, and legacy technologies.

They also act as a strategic advisor to IT leadership, project teams, and specialized architects.

The initial scope of the mandate will involve implementing a strategy for decommissioning/rationalization of products on Mainframe z/OS.

Work is 100% remote but occasionally, the client may request on-site travel to Quebec (expenses covered). Please inform the recruiter if travel is not possible.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop technological and infrastructure architectures aligned with the organization's business and technological orientations
  • Define target architectures, migration strategies, and technological roadmaps
  • Participate in the modernization and optimization of technological infrastructures
  • Prepare opportunity studies, business cases, impact analyses, and technical studies
  • Design robust solutions ensuring high availability, security, performance, and operational continuity
  • Ensure the integration of solutions into complex and hybrid environments
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of major technological transformation projects
  • Support implementation, operations, and security teams
  • Act as an expert-advisor and mentor to architects and technical teams
  • Contribute to technological governance work and architecture committees
  • Identify technological risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Participate in the management of technological obsolescence and infrastructure sustainability issues
  • Collaborate on migration, consolidation, relocation, and optimization initiatives for data centers and IT infrastructures
  • Participate in the definition of standards, norms, and best practices in technology
  • Support teams during production deployments, crisis cells, and critical activities

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in information technology
  • Significant experience in technological and infrastructure architecture
  • Experience in complex technological transformation or modernization projects
  • Experience in critical, high-availability environments
  • Experience in infrastructure migrations, consolidation, or data center transformation
  • Experience in hybrid cloud environments and enterprise infrastructures
  • Experience in multidisciplinary coordination and technical team support
  • Demonstrated expertise in Mainframe z/OS environments and product decommissioning/rationalization

CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particularities of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $80,000 and $155,000. This position is currently vacant.
