Financial Controller

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team and actively contribute to the quality and reliability of our financial information.

Your role:

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the management and control of the company's accounting operations. You will play a central role in the production of financial information, the supervision of the accounting team, and the optimization of processes.

Your main responsibilities:

Financial and accounting management

• Participate in the production of financial statements
• Perform end-of-year files and external audits
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and internal policies
• Analyze financial performance and produce management reports
• Ensure the accuracy of financial information and adherence to deadlines
• Perform accounting entries, reconciliations, and monthly closings
• Participate in treasury management
• Contribute to the improvement of processes and internal controls
• Support the financial management team in various projects

Billing and vendor management

• Supervise the billing process to ensure quick and efficient deadlines
• Ensure that payments to subcontractors and vendors comply with agreements
• Validate amounts to be paid, taking into account special situations
• Ensure optimal coordination between accounts payable and receivable
• Collaborate on the resolution of disputes, claims, and complex situations

Leadership and team management

• Supervise the daily activities of the accounting team
• Act as a resource person and support team development
• Ensure the quality of work and adherence to standards
• Optimize work organization and improve efficiency
• Foster a collaborative and performance-oriented climate

Overall contribution

• Participate in special projects and improvement initiatives
• Assume any related responsibilities associated with the role
• The profile we are looking for

Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting

Experience

• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in accounting
• Experience in a multi-company environment (a strong asset)
• Experience in the construction sector (a strong asset)

Technical skills

• Excellent French (English is an asset)
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office suite skills
• Proficiency with accounting systems (Maestro is an asset)
• Good knowledge of accounting standards and tax requirements
