Logistics Technician
Role
The Logistics Technician leads a team of forklift operators. They are responsible for analyzing and executing daily inbound, outbound, and warehousing operations to ensure smooth and efficient logistics processes. This position requires reliability, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, availability, and excellent observation and prioritization abilities. In the event of operational issues, the Logistics Technician must be proactive, adaptable, and responsive.
Main Responsibilities
- Receiving goods: Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products to ensure they meet specifications upon arrival at the warehouse.
- Organizing storage space: Optimize product placement based on product characteristics and handling requirements.
- Order preparation: Monitor inventory levels, process customer requests, and prepare shipments while meeting delivery deadlines.
- Operating material handling equipment: Use forklifts and other warehouse equipment to support storage and handling operations.
- Cross-department collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient information flow.
- Assign tasks to forklift operators based on operational priorities and staff availability.
- Monitor trailer loading and unloading activities in real time and manage unexpected situations such as delays, equipment breakdowns, or order changes.
- Maintain accurate logistics records, documentation, and operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal procedures.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of logistics processes.

Organizational Skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to plan and manage warehouse operations efficiently.
- Strong ability to work under pressure, manage stress, respond quickly, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions.
Communication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with customers, carriers, and other departments.
Analytical Skills
- Ability to identify and resolve issues related to loading, unloading, and warehouse operations.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to adapt to changing or unexpected situations.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven experience using or implementing a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is required (WMS, ERP systems, logistics platforms, handheld scanners).
Education and Experience
- Diploma in Logistics, Transportation, or Operations Management.
- Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or transportation is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Part-time, on-site position in a warehouse environment.
- Weekend schedule (Saturday and Sunday).
- Two shifts available: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. / 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
- Physical requirements may occasionally include operating a forklift.
- Salary: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour
- Location: On-site
