Assistant Accountant
Status: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours/week)

The Outaouais Dairy is growing rapidly and is modernizing its administrative, accounting, and operational processes. To support this evolution, we are creating a new Assistant Accountant position.
Reporting to the Director of Administration, you will become their main collaborator and play a key role in the daily management of the department. Beyond accounting responsibilities, you will actively participate in the continuous improvement of our processes, the development of analysis tools, and the automation of several administrative activities.
This position has been designed to evolve. You will develop a deep understanding of the department's functions to support team members, take on strategic file management independently, and eventually assume some of the Director of Administration's responsibilities in their absence.

Your Main Responsibilities
Accounting and Finance
- Supervise the accounting cycle and ensure the quality and accuracy of work done by team members.
- Be responsible for payroll processing and ensure its accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
- Review bank reconciliations and reconciliations of various accounts in the general ledger.
- Participate in the preparation and review of monthly and year-end financial statements.
- Prepare government submissions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor customer and vendor accounts.
- Produce various financial and operational analyses for management.
- Collaborate on budget preparation and financial indicator tracking.
Operations Analysis
- Monitor and critically analyze production gains and losses.
- Calculate and analyze milk usage according to different regulatory classes.
- Produce performance indicators and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Participate in monthly inventory taking and analyze inventory discrepancies.
Administration and Operations
- Be responsible for daily tasks related to electronic data exchange (EDI) with business partners.
- Monitor various customer and vendor portals.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of administrative processes.
- Develop and maintain tracking tools and dashboards (Excel, Power BI).
- Participate in various automation and process optimization projects.
Support to the Director of Administration
- Act as the main collaborator of the Director of Administration in the daily management of operations.
- Take on various files independently and ensure their follow-up.
- Develop an excellent knowledge of the department's functions to support other team members during vacations, absences, or peak periods.
- Participate in the documentation and improvement of internal procedures.
- Assume some of the Director of Administration's responsibilities in their absence.
- Desired Profile
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus.
Experience
- Relevant experience in accounting and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with payroll processing.
- Experience with accounting software or an ERP.
- Knowledge of EDI processes (a plus).
Skills

- Salary: $50,000 to $62,900 per year
