The role in brief

You will serve as the primary reference in accounting and work closely with the management and the external auditor. You will play a key role in the organization's financial health, managing daily accounting operations while actively contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes. What you will do

  • Core of the role — accounting and financial cycle

● Manage routine accounting operations (vendor accounts, invoicing, payroll, journal entries) ● Perform reconciliations, account analyses, ledger adjustments, and variance tracking ● Participate in monthly and year-end closing processes ● Produce required government remittances and reports (GST/HST, DAS, T1/T4, etc.) and communicate with the relevant authorities ● Collaborate with the accountant/external auditor

Additional responsibilities ● Ensure the accuracy of inventory accounting and optimize the cost of goods sold ● Manage grant applications (forms, claims, follow-ups) ● Answer phone calls one day a week (customer service) ● Coordinate the group insurance plan and the collective REER plan

Strategic contribution ● Provide management with clear and reliable financial information ● Suggest continuous improvement opportunities for accounting processes
