Description

Reporting to the President, the Corporate Purchasing Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing all procurement activities across all 4 production units/distribution centers of our corporate group located in Canada. He develops and implements procurement strategies to ensure effective, uniform, and profitable supply for the entire organization.

He ensures the application of best practices in procurement, harmonization of processes across different units, development of sustainable partnerships with suppliers, and negotiation of favorable corporate agreements. Through his expertise, he contributes to cost reduction, operational performance improvement, and achievement of the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a corporate purchasing governance.
  • Standardize, harmonize, and optimize procurement processes, policies, and practices to ensure efficiency, compliance, and uniformity of operations;
  • Develop and deploy procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, delivery times, and risk management;
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key suppliers and negotiate agreements;
  • Collaborate with operations, production, finance, and other teams to ensure effective procurement that meets the needs of different plants;
  • Implement performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor results to identify opportunities for continuous improvement;
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and standards;
  • Exercise leadership in guiding change and implementing best practices in purchasing management.

Desired Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, supply chain management (SCM), business administration, or any other relevant or equivalent discipline.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in procurement and purchasing management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, to communicate with internal clients and francophone and anglophone suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of SAP (asset).
  • Rigor, autonomy, analytical and synthesis skills, reliability, and excellent team spirit.
