The Staybridge Suites Montreal Airport – Saint-Laurent is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and business development-oriented Senior Sales Representative to lead the hotel's sales activities and stimulate revenue growth across all market segments.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and the Regional Sales Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies to maximize occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), revenue per available room (RevPAR), and overall profitability of the property.
The selected individual will be responsible for developing new markets, building lasting business relationships with clients, increasing market share, and representing the hotel to the local business community. This position requires a proactive sales professional passionate about prospecting, networking, outbound sales visits, and customer service excellence, while ensuring compliance with IHG brand standards and company policies.
Main Responsibilities
- Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Director, provide weekly reports on sales performance, market trends, production, forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify, solicit, negotiate, and close new agreements in the corporate, government, group, airline crew, sports teams, SMERF (Social, Military, Education, Religious and Fraternal), and extended stay segments through proactive prospecting activities.
- Conduct outbound sales visits, cold calls, participate in networking events, meet with clients, organize hotel tours, and participate in local sales blitzes to generate new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts while continuously seeking to increase their business volume.
- Manage all sales activities in the hotel's CRM and sales management systems, ensuring that client interactions, reservations, lost business, and follow-ups are accurately documented.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, association meetings, networking events, chamber of commerce activities, and community events to increase the property's visibility.
- Conduct guided hotel tours and present sales proposals highlighting the property's amenities, services, and competitive advantages.
- Negotiate group contracts and ensure that all agreements are completed accurately and in compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate group requirements, including Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), with clients and various departments to ensure the smooth execution of events.
- Hold pre-event and post-event meetings with clients to confirm their expectations, assess their satisfaction, and identify future business opportunities.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure effective communication and an exceptional experience for groups during their stay.
- Collaborate with the revenue management team to optimize lodging revenues while maintaining strategic relationships with accounts.
- Participate in hotel receptions, customer recognition events, and promotional activities to develop new business relationships.
- Attend weekly sales, revenue management, and operations meetings and present detailed updates on business development activities and the sales pipeline.
- Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, company policies, and all applicable health, safety, and employment laws and regulations.
