Take on responsibilities within your community with Canada Post. Under the authority of the supervisor (or local zone manager), you will be responsible for promoting and selling postal products and services to the public and businesses in the community. As a postmaster, you will represent the post office in your service area, supervise staff, and ensure that Canada Post demonstrates a dynamic customer-focused approach and commitment to the community in a multi-priority environment.

Professional Responsibilities

Establish contact with the community regarding Canada Post products and services

Sell and promote postal products and services to the public and businesses

Administer the post office to meet opening hours and delivery expectations

Manage revenue, values, and assets related to the post office

Maintain files and prepare reports

Provide assistance for efficient mail delivery route management

Adequate physical fitness and ability to lift mail containers weighing up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for long periods

Facility Requirements:

An annual bonus may be offered to help offset the costs associated with providing facilities.
