Take on the challenge and responsibility of a leader with Canada Post. Under the authority of the supervisor (or local area manager), you will be responsible for promoting and selling postal products and services to the public and businesses in the community. As a postmaster, you will represent the post office in your service area, supervise staff, and ensure that Canada Post demonstrates a dynamic customer-focused approach and commitment to the community in a multi-priority environment.
Professional Responsibilities
- Establish contact with the community regarding Canada Post products and services
- Sell and promote postal products and services to the public and businesses
- Manage the post office to meet store hours and delivery agreements
- Manage revenue, values, and assets related to the post office
- Keep records and prepare reports
- Supervise staff, provide training, and evaluate performance
- Assist in the efficient management of mail delivery routes

- Admissibility Criteria
- High school diploma or provincial equivalent and/or business administration experience
- Experience in team management and leadership
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash transactions
- Knowledge of regulations, methods, and procedures for mail handling and postal service delivery
- Good physical condition to lift mail containers weighing up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for long periods

MUTATION: Priority will be given to mutation requests received from employees who are members of the ACMPA with priority to members in the displayed competition zone. COMPETITION: All employees who are members of the ACMPA, priority will be given to members in the displayed competition zone. Employees appointed for a fixed term with continuous service within the ACMPA may submit their application in accordance with the collective agreement.
