Machining Department Assistant

Feed Machines – 40%

• Load cutting pieces into the saw and run cutting programs according to the needs of the parts to be machined
• Manage the production of parts in CNC machines, load parts into the machines, remove parts at the end of a program, and reload parts into the machines for other faces to be machined
• Use already proven programs
• Track machined quantities and notify machinists of any issues

Clean Parts – 45%

• Deburr the outside of parts between each face change on quantity production
• Deburr the inside of parts after the complete machining of the part
• Remove scratches on parts
• Wash parts and bring them to the inspection department

Machine and Department Maintenance – 10%

• Remove chips from machines when they are full
• Keep lubrication oil and cutting oil reservoirs at functional levels for each machine
• Perform annual maintenance on machines and regular upkeep
• Keep the department's work environment clean and organized
• Participate in continuous improvement of the department by making recommendations and bringing positive and constructive changes

Receiving Goods – 5%

• Verify received materials during reception
• Manage the location of merchandise in the warehouse according to the type of material: 12-foot aluminum bars, 6-foot ductile iron bars, bulk material (boilers, etc.)
• Place tools in toolboxes
• Store parts in an organized manner according to their nature and dimensions
• Inform the purchasing department of any anomalies related to the quantity and quality of merchandise
• Ensure stock reliability in the system through periodic inventories
• Academic Requirements:
• High school diploma OR relevant experience in machining and factory work
• Relevant Years of Experience:
• None required
• Other Knowledge/Requirements:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Forklift Operator Certificate (training will be provided if needed)

Reading drawings is an asset

Languages Spoken/Written: Good knowledge of French

Knowledge of English is considered an asset

Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 per year
