Estimator

The estimator, under the supervision of the estimation manager, will receive and analyze client requests to estimate the selling price of new cold room or architectural panel projects. Typical requests come in the form of bids, based on architectural plans, simple sketches, or emails.

Job Responsibilities

• Acknowledge receipt of assigned submissions from the Team Coordinator;
• Analyze client needs based on received plans, estimates, sketches, or specifications;
• Contact and work, if necessary, with several approved suppliers for accessories not manufactured by Norbec but necessary for a given project;
• Responsible for making (writing, submitting, and following up on) the following requests:
• Requests to assistance services (delays, priorities, defined tasks);
• Requests for transportation fees;
• Requests for resale and installation;
• When necessary and in accordance with the procedures established by each of the services mentioned above;
• Update submission forms based on feedback from the departments consulted;
• Calculate production using NorConfig & Size It;
• Prepare and print submissions with Epicor;
• Consult the team manager for submissions over $750k or for complex projects, validate everything before sending it to the client;
• Send submissions to prospects/clients as quickly as possible.
• Required Education and Experience
• Hold a DEC or DEP, preferably in estimation, building construction, industrial refrigeration, architecture, or another related field;
• Have experience in estimation, cost calculations, or other relevant experience;
• Experience in the commercial/industrial construction field.
• Key Skills Required
• Intermediate knowledge of the Office suite;
• Advanced knowledge of integrated management systems (ERP);
• Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD.
