Description

At Stantec, we actively participate in the lives of the communities we serve. That's why we act in the collective interest. We are looking for people who want to use their talents and show creativity and determination to achieve extraordinary things.

The Stantec community brings together nearly 30,000 employees working in over 450 offices located on six continents. Our employees from all disciplines and sectors work together to deliver our clients' projects. We are architects, engineers, and consultants, and our involvement begins with the initial design and planning of a project until its construction and commissioning. Every project we undertake is an opportunity to establish a lasting connection with the people and places where they live and work. Join us today and realize your full potential!

Your Opportunity

If you want to grow and thrive within a dynamic, stable team working on diverse projects, join us as an Electrical Technician within the Grand Programmes de Maintien des Actifs (GPMA-STM) team.

The GPMA is responsible for replacing fixed equipment that has reached the end of its useful life. The projects undertaken are very varied: construction of mechanical ventilation stations, accessibility projects (adding elevators to existing stations), various electrical deliverables (medium and low voltage), and the addition or modernization of telecommunications equipment.

Under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, your main task will be to design several major renovation projects for mechanical ventilation stations. You will contribute to achieving several objectives:

  • Ensure a safe evacuation route for travelers and a safe access route for firefighters during an intervention;
  • Improve the comfort of travelers. Trains produce a lot of heat in the network, and ventilation stations serve to regulate the temperature in the tunnels and stations.
  • Your Responsibilities
  • More specifically, by joining Stantec, your main responsibilities will be:
  • Actively participate in the preparation of low and medium voltage electrical plans, lighting and fire alarm plans under the supervision of an engineer (design and drawing);
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination;
  • Perform voltage drop, motor load, and lighting calculations;
  • Comply with the application of the quality system and applicable drawing standards;
  • Use document management systems;
  • Participate in engineering activities (Technical questions, Engineering guidelines, etc.);
  • Before and during construction: perform site surveys as needed to facilitate design and planning.

These responsibilities appeal to you? Do not hesitate to apply for the role. If you have any questions, contact your recruiter Catherine Tatta on LinkedIn!

Your Background

Your application will catch our attention if you have the following expertise and experience:

  • DEC in electrical engineering or any other relevant disciplines;
  • Good knowledge of the Quebec electrical code;
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the design of building or infrastructure systems;
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD & Revit software;
  • ASP card.
