What is the opportunity?
As an Assistant Branch Manager, you motivate and lead a high-performing team of advisors in a dynamic, rewarding, and high-volume market, while establishing and achieving the team's sales goals. You provide support to team members to improve their skills and capabilities to optimize sales and referral opportunities, promote digital technology awareness and usage, and encourage problem resolution at the first point of contact. Aligned with RBC partners around a shared purpose, vision, and values, you build relationships and foster collaboration among all employees, regardless of their role. Additionally, you promote continuous team development through consistent activities to ensure high levels of capability and engagement.
What will you do?
- Ensure high employee engagement through talent management, development, and career planning
- Drive results through sales management activities and strong coaching skills
- Collaborate with your supervisor to ensure the operational efficiency of the branch and optimize team performance
- Advocate and encourage excellence in retail sales, setting the example to provide a memorable customer experience
- Provide coaching to team members on advisory services, customer information, and first-contact problem resolution and prevention; promote digital optimization and all service delivery modes
- Engage with partners to build internal and external professional relationships to contribute to commercial objectives
- Meet community needs through relevant recruitment methods and management practices
- What do you need to succeed?
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in a relationship management role in the financial sector (e.g., banking advisor, financial advisor)
- Strong track record in business growth and client and community relationship building
- At least two years of experience as a registered representative for mutual fund sales in the last three years
- Mutual Fund Sales Permit (successful completion of the Investment Funds in Canada course or the Canadian Securities Course)
- Passing grade on the Branch Manager Course (BMC) exam, a program offered by the ICVM and designed for mutual fund dealers, or the ability to pass this exam within four months of the start date
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will serve both French and English-speaking clients
Assets
- Experience in personal and business banking services
- Strong understanding of sales management activities and ability to lead a team in action
- Post-secondary education, ideally in business or business administration, or equivalent experience
- Business acumen and ability to find and exploit new opportunities
