Responsibilities
This role will first involve setting up our mobile development environment and launching the MVP version of the RTINGS.com mobile application for iOS and Android using Hotwire Native.
- Develop the RTINGS.com mobile application using Hotwire Native, providing a native experience on iOS and Android while leveraging our existing Ruby on Rails and Turbo-based web platform
- Design native screens and integration components when the web experience does not meet the application's needs
- Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and Rails/backend development team to quickly design, deliver, and improve a high-quality mobile experience
- Work with the development team to ensure that web views, APIs, and shared platform features integrate effectively into the native application
- Make pragmatic technical decisions by finding the right balance between delivery speed and long-term maintainability
- Publish, monitor, and maintain application versions on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Diagnose production issues and continuously improve the application's stability, performance, and user experience

- You are comfortable working across the entire technology stack, from Ruby on Rails and Turbo to native development when the application's needs require it
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails, full-stack, or mobile development
- Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, particularly Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus), is mandatory
- Experience with Hotwire Native (formerly Turbo Native), or excellent ability to quickly master this technology, is strongly desired
- Experience in iOS and/or Android native application development (Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose), enabling the development of native integration components (*bridge components*) and platform-specific features
- Experience in publishing and maintaining applications on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store is an asset
- Experience in integrating third-party SDKs and platform-specific mobile services (e.g., push notifications, authentication, analytics) is an asset
- Experience with GraphQL is an asset
- Quick learning ability and excellent problem-solving skills
