FP&A Analyst, Process and Data Optimization
Reports to: VP FP&A
We are looking for a highly analytical and technology-driven FP&A Analyst, process and data optimization to join our FP&A team.
This role combines financial planning and analysis with business intelligence, automation, data modeling, and process optimization. The selected person will play a key role in supporting FP&A activities while leading initiatives related to report automation, data governance, dashboard development, and the continuous evolution of our Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environment.
This position is ideal for a finance professional with strong technical skills who enjoys turning data into actionable information and improving operational efficiency through technology.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Contribute to the preparation of consolidated budgets, financial forecasts, and presentation materials for senior management.
- Participate in monthly and annual closing activities, including financial allocations, end-of-month reports, and reconciliations.
- Perform financial and operational analyses as requested to support decision-making.
- Data Analysis and Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide Power BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and semantic models.
- Develop and maintain complex data models using Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Implement scalable reporting structures to improve visibility of financial and operational performance.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data within reporting solutions.
- Data Management and Governance
- Manage and optimize data flows, data transformations, and data quality processes.
- Support the continuous migration and development of the company's Microsoft Fabric data platform.
- Collaborate with BI teams and business partners to improve data architecture and reporting capabilities.
- Implement and maintain best practices in data governance, documentation, and model design.
- Process Automation and Optimization
- Identify opportunities for automating manual financial processes and improving operational efficiency.
- Lead and support automation initiatives using Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, and AI-integrated solutions.
- Document business processes, reporting workflows, and technical solutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within Finance and other business functions.
- Collaboration and Project Management
- Act as a business partner to Finance, BI, and operational teams.
- Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary projects related to business intelligence, reporting, and process transformation.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information systems, data analytics, or a related field.
- CPA, CFA, MBA, or other equivalent professional designation considered an asset.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in FP&A, business intelligence, data analysis, financial systems, or a related field.
- Experience in developing financial and operational process-related reports.
- Demonstrated experience in reporting and process improvement projects.
- Technical Skills
- Required
- Advanced expertise in Power BI development.
- Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Data Lake architectures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial and operational modeling.
- Experience in managing large volumes of data from multiple sources.
- Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE).
- Assets
- Experience in SQL development.
- Experience with Power Automate.
- Experience in reporting with Hubble.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies and Microsoft Copilot.
